Health and education are our primary objectives. Here are some of our projects and how you can help, and get involved.
Children of Kilimanjaro
Mdawi is a rural village in the Kilimanjaro region, and stretches between the elevation of 820 and 1449 m + MSL. In 1996 the Mdawi Orphans Care was founded by Allen Lekey, an inhabitant of the town. During a scientific mission at the KCMC hospital, Dutch doctor Mirna Robert-Du Ry van Beest Holle came in contact with Allen. His enthusiasm and determination lead Dr. Robert to become involved in some of the projects he had set up such as child sponsoring and HIV healthcare.
Through the use of international collaborators and sponsors the mission Dr, Robert began grew tremendously and allowed for a number of activities to expand and develop in Mdawi. Due to this growth, the project was officially registered in 2006 as a foundation, and was named Children of Kilimanjaro.
